Can You Drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini in Israel?

Let's start with what no sales page will rush to tell you: there is currently no legal, accessible way to drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini on a race track in Israel, in an organized format available to the general public. No operator keeps a fleet of Italian supercars for self-drive experiences, and the reasons are pretty clear: a purchase cost of millions of shekels per car that spikes accordingly, and track wear that makes every hour of activity horrifyingly expensive.

What will you sometimes find? Short ride-along passenger rides next to a driver, expensive road rentals with mileage and speed limits, or showcase days where you photograph yourself next to the car more than you actually drive it. These are legitimate experiences - but it's important to read the fine print and understand exactly what you're getting: sitting next to a driver isn't driving, and fifteen minutes stuck in traffic on the Ayalon Highway in a car worth millions isn't a motorsport experience.

If you absolutely need the black horse on the wheel, the address is abroad. Around Maranello and Modena in Italy, an entire industry of Ferrari experiences operates: 10–30 minute road drives between the villages of Emilia-Romagna, and pricier track days. In Barcelona and other tourist cities, you'll find rental companies offering supercars by the hour or by the day. It's real, it exists, and it's expensive: hundreds of euros for a few minutes on the road, thousands of euros for a day's rental or a track experience, and on top of all that come flights, lodging, deposits, and an excess that can run to tens of thousands of shekels.

And the point that matters most to understand before you book: in most road experiences abroad, you're not allowed to push the car anywhere near its limit. You're driving 670 horsepower on a public road with a speed limit, an accompanying driver reining in every acceleration, and sometimes a lead car setting the pace. The badge on the wheel is real; the performance experience is very partial.

When you break the Ferrari dream down into its parts, it turns out to be made of four things - and only one of them actually requires a Ferrari:
